Information about Perinatal Program:
The Perinatal Program provides support and parenting education for first time parents in Seminole county. Support and parenting education is provided through peer group meetings, parenting classes, social events, and one on one professional or volunteer support.
The primary purpose of the program is to prevent the occurrence or re-occurrence of abuse or neglect. This program increases parents knowledge of child development and equips them with coping skills that can be used as the demands and stresses of child rearing present themselves. The Perinatal Program is a volunteer service, which encourages the active participation of "high risk" and self referred first time parents in Seminole County.
